The approval of a sustainable farming initiative at Rathcroghan, near for implementation under a European Innovation Partnerships Initiative (EIP) is very positive, Fine Gael Senator Maura Hopkins has said.
Senator Hopkins stated, “My colleague, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed TD has informed me that this initiative is one of 9 which has been selected for implementation under this initiative.”
“The proposal for Rathcroghan focuses on sustainable farming within the archaeological landscape locally. Now that this proposal has been approved, it can begin to be rolled out. Initiatives under this scheme are bottom up and are run in conjunction with local organisations and communities.”
Senator Hopkins concluded, “The proposal for Rathcroghan is very valuable as it seeks to ensure the protection of the landscape in a manner which involves local landowners and all relevant stakeholders. The approval for this project is very positive and will build on the work that has been done to date at the Rathcroghan site and visitor centre.”
