Senator Hopkins stated, “My colleague, Minister for Rural and Community Development, Michael Ring T.D. has informed me that he is making this funding available to Roscommon Sub Aqua and Lough Ree Sub Aqua in order to support their first response work.”

“Roscommon Sub Aqua is to receive €46,847.77 for the purchase of a new boat and van. Lough Ree Sub Aqua is to receive €6,680.00 for a new boat and trailer.”

“Working closely with committee members, I am very aware of the vital services they provide for our communities. I am very pleased that this funding is being made available to each club as it will allow them to invest in their equipment, ensuring their sustainability into the future.”

Senator Hopkins concluded, “I continue to work closely with Minister Michael Ring to secure the maximum possible CLÁR funding for the Roscommon Galway region. I anticipate that further funding announcements will be made in the coming weeks.”
