Families of 709 children across Roscommon and Galway have been successful in their applications for support under the National Childcare Scheme, Senator Maura Hopkins has said.
Senator Hopkins stated, “This new scheme provides financial support to meet the costs of early learning and school age childcare. Financial supports can be used with any participating, Tusla registered services, including childminders who are registered.”
“Income based subsidies are available to families with reckonable household incomes of up to €60,000 which can translate into as much as €90,000 gross for families in certain specific circumstances.”
“This is the first time that families will have a
statutory entitlement to financial support towards the cost of childcare. This
new scheme will make lives easier for families, with many qualifying for
support for the first time.”
Senator Hopkins concluded, “I would encourage anyone who may be interested in availing of these supports, to apply directly at www.ncs.gov.ie.”
